LA Lakers (28-18) at Dallas Mavericks (27-20):
The Dallas Mavericks have been on fire lately, especially at home. They have won 4 straight games, and are 9-2 at home in their last 11 games. Overall, they are 18-7 at home. Plus, it looks like Shawn Marion could be in action tonight for his first game after sitting out a couple of games.
Dallas played their last game on Monday night where they disposed of the Denver Nuggets in Denver 112-95. Dallas' last home game was Saturday Night where they beat the Spurs 106-99.
Dallas has a very similar winning percentage overall (57.4%) and after 1 night off (58.3%), even after a day off when they had won their previous game their percentage is still very similar (57.9%).
The Los Angeles Lakers have been a Jekyll and Hyde team this year. At home they are almost unbeatable with a 19-3 record, but on the road they are extremely vulnerable with a 9-15 record. The Lakers have lost their last two games, but before that they won their previous 5 games. Even with that nice streak, they are only 3-4 in their last 7 road games, including losses to Houston, Washington, and Detroit.
The Lakers played last night against the Houston Rockets in Houston. They played them tough for most of the game, but blew their lead with a 29-7 run by Houston to end the game, with a loss 107-104.
When playing the second game in two days this year, the Lakers are 6-7.
In head to head matchups this year, the Lakers have won both games. On Jan. 16th, the Lakers won at home 73-70. On Feb. 22nd, the Lakers won in Dallas 96-91 (That is one of only 2 home losses in Dallas' last 11 games)
Pick: Even though the Lakers have the head-to-head advantage, I still do not trust them on the road. This should be a great game to watch, that will probably be a close one. But, I believe that Dallas will prevail.
Confidence: W6 or less
What do you think? I will try to get these up at least 7 times a week (In other words, if I miss a day, I might put two up another day).
The Upset specials will be up later!
