Sorry for the lack of posting lately, I have been pretty swamped by finals, but now that my school year is complete, I can resume posting daily Picks of the Day!
PPOTD Record: 8-4
Today's PPOTD: Milwaukee Brewers (11-13) at San Diego Padres (8-17)
Current Line: Milwaukee -155 (bet365)
The Milwaukee Brewers have had a bit of a disappointing start to the regular season with an 11-13 record. The vaunted starting pitching staff has contributed to the team giving up a National League worst 125 runs this season. But, there are signs that the Brewers may be turning it around! In their last three games, the Brewers have given up a total of five runs.
The San Diego Padres have had a terrible start to the season with an 8-17 record. The Padres have only scored 77 runs in this young season, including scoring only 7 in their last four games. The Padres have the worst record in the National League.
Yovani Gallardo (1-2, 6.08 ERA, 1.65 WHIP) will be starting today for the Milwaukee Brewers. While at first his ERA looks atrocious, if you dig a little bit deeper, you will see that it isn't that bad. Gallardo has pitched twice against the St. Louis Cardinals this year. In those starts he has given up 14 earned runs in 5.2 innings for two losses. If you disregard those two starts, he has a 1.71 ERA in his other three starts. This trend has also been present in 2011. In that year, Yovani had a 3.52 ERA, but if you take away his starts against the Cardinals it drops down to a 3.23 ERA. So as you can see, Gallardo's ERA is not as bad as it looks as long as he doesn't face the St. Louis Cardinals. Yovani has a 2.08 career ERA at Petco Park.
Jeff Suppan (No Appearances this year) will be starting today for the San Diego Padres. Jeff Suppan at age 37 has definitely seen his better days. He has not pitched in the major leagues since 2010. He also has not had a major league ERA below five since 2008 (4.96 ERA in 2008). Jeff has also been playing terrible at the minor league level. This season with the Triple-A Tucson Padres, Suppan has a 12.15 ERA. Last season with Triple-A Omaha he had a 4.78 ERA. Jeff Suppan's career ERA at Petco Park is 5.59.
Pick: Milwaukee Brewers
Confidence: W10 or less
Summary: When this prop was originally put up with Cory Lubeke starting for the Padres, this looked like it would be a tossup with the slight edge going to the Padres. But since Suppan was announced as the replacement, this becomes a lock for the Brewers.

Pwnage Pick of the Day 4/3 #1
PPOTD Record: 7-3
Last PPOTD: 4-1 Pittsburgh Penguins (Loss)
Today's Pwnage Pick of the Day: Pittsburgh Penguins (48-31, 102 Points) at Boston Bruins (47-32, 98 Points)
Hockey PPOTD: 3-2
This will be a small post today as I got some exams coming up, and my schedule is getting pretty packed.
The Boston Bruins have won 3 of their last 4 road games. They have also won 7 of their last 9 games overall. They have won their past 2 games (both on the road). The Bruins are 23-16 at home.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost 3 of their last 4 games. They have also lost 3 of their last 4 road games. Pittsburgh is 21-19 on the road.
The Boston Bruins are hot right now, the Penguins are not. This should be a victory for the Bruins.
New Confidence Scale
W5 or Less: The lowest confidence pick (If there are no picks that I would pick with a W5 then there won't be any writeups unless I have some extra time)
W10 or Less: This is the highest that any nuetral site game is (Not including golf, tennis, etc...)
W15 or Less: This is the highest that any soccer prop can be
W20 or Less: This is the highest that any hockey prop can be
Any Streak: This is the highest confidence prop that there is
Pick: Boston Bruins
Confidence: W10 or Less
Last PPOTD: 4-1 Pittsburgh Penguins (Loss)

There will be no Pwnage Picks of the Day today as no pick on the board looks safe enough to risk a W5 on.

Pwnage Pick of the Day #1 4/1
PPOTD Record: 7-2
Last PPOTD: 3/30 Houston Rockets (Win)
Liverpool Win (42 Points) at Newcastle United Win/Draw (50 Points)
Newcastle is 8-2 at home with 5 draws this season. That would make them 13-2 in these props this year. Newcastle's last home loss was to West Bromwich back on December 21st. Since that time Newcastle has 5 wins and 2 draws. They have outscored opponents 12-4 at home since December 21st. Newcastle has 2 wins, 1 loss, and 2 draws in their last 5 games.
Liverpool is 6-8 with 1 draws on the road this year. 6-9 in these type of props on the road. Liverpool's last road win was on January 31st when they beat Wolverhampton. Their last road win against a team not in last place in the current EPL standings was on Jan 11th. They have been outscored on the road 8-5 since January 31st. In Liverpool's last 8 games they have 2 wins, 5 losses, and a draw.
Conclusion: Newcastle is at home where they haven't lost since December. Liverpool is on the road where they havn't won since January. Newcastle is the clear favorite here, and will start our month with a nice W1!
Pick: Newcastle W/D
Confidence: Any streak (Normally: W10 or less, but no one has any streak yet)

Pwnage Pick of the Day 4/1 #2
PPOTD Record: 8-2
Last PPOTD: 4/1 Newcastle United W/D (Win)
PPOTD: Philadelphia Flyers at Pittsburgh Penguins
Hockey PPOTD: 3-1
Today there will be 2 PPOTD to celebrate the beginning of the new month!
The Pittsburgh Penguins have cooled off a little bit since their 11 game winning streak, which was snapped against this same Flyers team in March, going 4-3 since then, but they are still 27-9 in their last 36 games. At home the Penguins are 27-11 this year. In their last 18 games, Pittsburgh is 16-2 at home. Pittsburgh played their last game on Friday Night beating Buffalo 5-3. Pittsburgh's last home game was a 5-3 loss against the New York Islanders on Tuesday Night.
Kris Letang will probably be returning for today. The Penguins have no other major injuries
The Philadelphia Flyers are 4-4 in their last 8 games. On the road, they are 24-15 this year. The Flyers are 2-2 in their last 4 road games. Their last game was a 4-3 home shootout loss to Ottawa Saturday Night. Their last road game was a 7-1 win over Toronto on Thursday Night.
The Flyers starting goalie will be probably be out for the game today.
If these teams werent rivals this would be a much higher confidence pick. But, the Penguins are still the better team, and especially with the injury to the Flyers goalie, they will win.
Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins
Confidence: W5 or less
